SFTP vs SCP: which to use

LinSCP supports both SFTP and SCP. SFTP is the more flexible, feature-rich protocol and is the right default for most users: it supports browsing, resuming, and remote file management. SCP is a simpler protocol focused on copying files quickly.

If you are unsure, choose SFTP. Switch to SCP only when a server requires it or when you specifically want its simple copy behavior.
